Tennessee House of Representatives
For Immediate Release: May 11, 2009
(NASHVILLE) – State Representative Ty Cobb (D-Columbia) and Tennessee Young Democrats President Seannalyn Brandmeir announced Thursday that Cobb will serve as keynote speaker for the 2009 TNYD State Convention in Franklin, TN.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to speak to my fellow young Democrats from across the state,” said Cobb. “Young people are constantly searching for new ways to help their communities and the Tennessee Young Democrats strive to involve the next generation of Democrats in the political process.”
The Tennessee Young Democrats strive to provide a ready means of entry into the Democratic Party for all young people as well as encourage and support the candidacy of qualified young people for public office and positions of responsibility within the Democratic Party. In addition to coordinating volunteers and mobilizing young Democrats for campaigns, the TNYD organization works in coordination with the Tennessee Democratic Party in expanding the role of young people throughout the political process.
“Representative Ty Cobb is the perfect example of a young Democrat in action and we are excited to have him share with our members his keys in success,” said Brandmeir. “Our convention is focused on organizing and mobilizing for the 2010 elections and the work of Rep. Cobb’s team is a model for doing this effectively.”
