The City of Columbia and the Columbia Fire Department broke ground on the new Station 2, located at 711 Lion Parkway, Thursday June 25, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
The new station will replace the existing Station located on Experiment Station Lane that was built in 1963.

In a deed transfer dated May 28 and submitted to the Maury County register of deeds Thursday, General Motors’ Saturn Corporation has given ownership of 98.44 acres of the land that is home to the Rippavilla Plantation to Rippavilla Inc, a nonprofit 301-C corporation.
